Mazdarati made a nice movie about season 12 in the S2-league: Absolute-beginners in slowmotion!

Thanks Mazda!

South City Town with the FBM

The 5th race of the 4th season in the Formula Racing series took place at South City Town.. 18 drivers showed up to qualify the FBM.
Half of the field managed to get into the 1:18’s. Mazdarati took the pole with a 1:18.00 flat, edging out Duct Tape by a few hundredths
of a second. The tight course left little room for passing so track position was critical.

7 drivers get their cars into the 1:18 during practice with the top 2 in the 1:17's

LuckyWill climbing the wall on the 2nd lap of the race. He did land on his wheels but his trouble would not be over yet.

Luca ending his race early as he is unable to avoid LuckyWill.

Daniel getting a piece of Bandes as he comments on the joys of driving the FBM.

BWR teammates Black and Weefelly both want the last step on the podium. Nice team picture!

Mazdarati appears to give up a sub 18 second lap virtue of his signature tire marks over the finish line on celebrating another victory.

New !panic command at the start of the race.

Last weekend we had some problems and discussions about the restart of the race after Luca found himself at the wrong place of the grid. If it was his own fault or not isn't that important anymore.
To avoid some racers to miss the startinggrid we made a new admin command telling the racers to be on track (no spectate):

Also now we have a !panic command, active during the first 3 laps of each race. Every racer can now type !panic to show the following message:

When the 1st racer passes the finishline for the 3rd time this command will not be available anymore:

We hope that these extensions in Lapper will help avoiding discussions in the future and make things clear to everybody. Do keep in mind that this command only is for wrong grids and should not be used for other things like a bad start etc.

See also the chapter "Wrong grids" at the racingrules.

Keeping 4 Wheels on the Ground at Blackwood

Race 9 of the S2 series of Absolute Beginners race took place at Blackwood in the reverse direction. There were 2 cars available for
this race (XFR, UFR) The XFR seemed to be the popular choice of the two cars as the top 4 spots in qualifying were occupied by the
roll over happy car. Duck Tape took the pole as he was the only car to break into the 1:15’s with a blistering 1:15:97. The top UFR
was Frosi who started 5th. Among the usual drivers up front with Duck Tape, Mazdarati and Black was Daniel at 4th. Somehow he
managed to put in a PB and squeezed into the front group. A smaller group of 24 drivers formed the grid as this season begins to
wind down. Almost half of the field got their cars into the 1:16’s which seemed to promise some close racing.

Some close racing going into the final turn.

Daniel escapes a fast closing Antti who manages to get all 4 wheels back on the ground.

Are these team mates bump drafting or just stuck together?

Cetus having a close call but manages to land on all 4 wheels.

Duck Tape taking the victory and a stranglehold on the championship.

Formula 1 at Aston Grand Prix

The 4th race of the 4th season in the Formula Racing series took place at Aston Grand Prix in the reverse direction. 22 drivers
showed up to qualify the fastest car in LFS, the BF1. The wide range of skill was apparent as the qualifying times were spread
out over almost 13 seconds. RedlineStuart took the pole with a 2:07.51. Mazdarati joined him on the front row but did not
manage to crack into the 07’s. The run down to the first chicane would be a tricky one to navigate without causing major havoc.

RedlineStuart leads the snake of cars through the chicane for the first time.

Kelle becoming a sandwich between Weaver and Weefelly.

Mazdarati splits Weaver and Weefelly. All 3 cars were on different race strategies.

K Ilu casting a nice shadow of his car through the chicane.

C. Dalda T-Boning Hans who is about to have a view of the entire race track.

LuckyWill wondering where Hans is going to land.

Gutholz getting a view he was not hoping for this race.

RedlineStuart wins easily by doing the fastest lap of the race on his last time over the finish line.
