The first race of the 4th season in the Formula Racing series took place at Westhill in the reverse direction. The high powered FO8 was the car designated for the opening race. An surprising large field of 24 drivers showed up for qualification. A total of 5 cars managed to get under 1:23 with Duck Tape taking the pole with a blistering 1:22.56. Notably absent was Mazdarati who was taking this race off. Formula expert Bandes lined up beside Duck Tape on the girid.

Duct Tape leads the race wire to wire and takes the victory.

Race 2 of the S2 series of Absolute Beginners once again had a large field of 31 drivers. The 2nd race took place at Aston Grand Prix. The majority of drivers chose the FXO with a handful going with the XRT. No one selected the RB4. Given the long lap times of 3:21 +, if everyone could get through the first lap clean, there should be enough room for a smooth race.
29 cars chase Mazdarati into T1 for the first time.
Monkey begins the first of 7 1/2 barrel rolls on his way on to his roof and early retirement.
Calin, Duck Tape and Antti battle for most of the race to claim the last spot on the podium.

Mazdarati takes the victory with Black and Calin in the distant background.
Season 12 of the S2 series of Absolute Beginners attracted the largest grid since October 10, 2010 at Aston Club where 32 drivers were entered. The first race took place at Fern Bay Green. Although two cars were available the vast majority chose the UFR for the race. In early testing this combo was proving to be quite difficult with many cars ending up on their roofs. The race would prove to be no different.
Turn 1 at the start of the race left more cars pointing in the wrong direction than in the right.
Calin was 1st to go airbourne in the turn 1 incident.
Hans reporting heavy damage to his car.
After repairs from the previous incident, Hans decided to climb the wall.

XNyle one of many to go over on his side.
Luca narrowly avoiding Redlabel.
Black takes the checkered flag and starts the season off with maximum points.
The 5th and final race in the Open Configuration Cup took place at a modified Kyoto track. Drivers chose the FXR over the XRR by a 2 to 1 margin with a couple of FZR’s making an appearance. The long lap times of just under 4 minutes should have let the field of 20 drivers have plenty of room to stay out of each other’s way.
Luca and JayBee putting on a fine exhibition of drifting.
Daniel clearing the tires for Jamo giving up a couple of places in the process.
Duck Tape taking advantage of a rare mistake by Mazdarati and claims 2nd.
Daniel holding off LuckyWill at the finish line.
Mazdarati has a photo finish with JayBee for 3rd, edging him out of a podium by 0.06 of a second.
Kelle, blown tire and all, limping his car home for his first victory!
